Privacy policy

Effective 1 Oct 2026 (notice version 2026-10-01). This policy explains how the company that runs Shubh Muhrat (details to be confirmed) handles your personal information on Shubh Bazaar under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. It is a first version and is being reviewed.

What we collect

  • You give us: your phone number (and email if you add one), name, language, the details of your event (type, dates, city, guests, budget), your messages with vendors, photos you upload, reviews and the information a vendor puts on their profile.
  • Payments: handled by our payment partner. We never see or store your card number.
  • Automatically: device and browser type, an approximate location from your network, and how you use the site (pages, searches) - the last only if you accept analytics.

Why we use it

To run your account and your event, show you vendors that fit, let vendors reply to your enquiries, take and release payments, keep the marketplace safe (fraud and abuse checks), meet legal duties, and improve Shubh Bazaar. Marketing messages are sent only if you opt in, separately from the messages needed to run your bookings.

What vendors can see

Vendors see the brief you send them - your event type, dates, guests, budget and area - and your first name. They do not see your phone number or email unless you choose "Share my number" for that vendor, which you can withdraw. Private notes and votes on your shortlist are never shown to vendors.

Who else gets it

Service providers who work for us (payments, messaging, hosting, identity checks), under contracts that limit what they can do with it; authorities when the law requires; and a buyer if the business is ever sold, with the same protections. We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

You can see and download your data, correct it, withdraw consent, ask us to erase it and complain. Download my data and Delete my account are in your Account. We can delete your account once any active bookings, payouts or disputes are settled. Records the law requires us to keep - payments, contracts and tax invoices - are kept with your personal details minimised.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open and for the periods the law requires after that. Messages and shortlists are erased when you delete your account.

Security

Sensitive details such as document numbers and bank accounts are encrypted; private documents are shown only to authorised staff through short-lived, logged links; and staff see masked contact details unless their role needs more. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you suspect a problem.

Children

Shubh Bazaar is for adults. If you plan an event for a child you do so as the parent or guardian.
